Appointments for in-person submission and interviews can be made any day except Monday. Mondays are reserved exclusively for applicants renewing their visas.
Applicants who can use the visa renewal procedure can also schedule an in-person submission and interview. Please note: all applicants scheduled for in-person submission and interview must personally appear at the embassy at the appointed time to be interviewed by a consular officer.
Attention: The personal presence of children under 14 years of age at the embassy is not required. When applying for a child under 16 years of age, one of the child's parents or guardians must appear at the embassy. Along with the documents usually required for applying for a non-immigrant visa, the child's application form should be accompanied by a birth certificate, photocopies of both parents' passports, and a notarized exit permit from the absent parent. If the child is traveling with a grandparent, the parents do not come for the interview, the child's application is submitted by the grandparent, accompanied by the parents' permission for the child's departure and birth certificates establishing the relationship between the child and the grandparent.
The United States issues visas to citizens of the Republic of Belarus for the maximum period and number of entries that the Republic of Belarus issues visas to citizens of the United States wishing to visit Belarus. Please note that a visa validity period of 12 months means that the visa holder must apply for admission at the port of arrival in the United States within 12 months of the visa's validity. This does not mean that the visa is valid for a year's stay in the United States. Whether a person can enter the United States and for how long is determined at the port of arrival by an officer of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (
www.cbp.gov).
The application fee for a tourist, student, and business visa is $160.
When applying for visas issued on the basis of an approved non-immigrant petition (work visas), the visa fee is $190. The fee is paid in cash in U.S. dollars at the embassy when applying for a visa. Please note: the fee paid is not refundable regardless of whether the visa was issued or not. The paid fee also cannot be transferred to another person. The fee paid in one country cannot be transferred to another country.
