Since Italy is part of the Schengen Agreement, either an Italian (national) visa or a Schengen visa is required to enter the Italian Republic. A Schengen visa is required for anyone planning to travel through several countries. However, if a person intends to spend the majority of their days in Italy, it is the diplomats of this country who will handle the visa issuance.
For all categories of applicants, there are requirements regarding the provision of all documents corresponding to a certain category of visa that will confirm the purpose of the trip to the country, as well as the necessary period of stay there. In addition, in some cases, documented information may be required about the living and financial conditions during the stay of Belarusian citizens in Italy.
The first stage of visa processing.
The very first step is to book an appointment time at the Consular Department. This issue should be addressed no later than 15 days before the предполагаемый departure. Since during the holiday season the flow of people wishing to go to the best European resorts increases, it does not hurt to apply for a visa 3 months in advance. This guarantees that you will have time to receive permission, and your vacation will leave only pleasant memories. If this is your first time obtaining a visa to a European country, be prepared to submit your fingerprints on the day of the interview. This procedure applies to all citizens over the age of 12.
What kind of visa is needed?
First, determine the type of visa you will need. It depends on what your goals are. If we consider the permits by сроки, there are two options: Short-term. It is obtained by those who are satisfied with 90 days, which can be used within six months; Long-term. This type allows you to stay in the Republic for 180 days within 365 days.
As for the purposes, if you are in Italy in transit, you need to apply for category "A" or "B". The first option is for those who have chosen air travel. The second one allows you to cross the country's territory several times. The total number of days you can stay in Italy is 5. Category "A" allows you to stay only in the airport area. "C" is the most popular option, suitable for everyone who is not going to stay in Italy for a long time. Visa "C" allows you to stay for 90 days in the Republic, calculated for six months. All these options belong to the Schengen type, that is, they allow you to stay in other countries of the agreement. The longest visas belong to category D. They are designed for those foreigners who are going to "visit" the country for more than 90 days. This type is not Schengen, but it allows you to cross the territories of other states. However, your goal should be exclusively Italy.
Having figured out what kind of visa you need in your case and booked an appointment time, start collecting documents.
