Studying in the Czech Republic. How to get a higher education

Ways to receive education in the Czech Republic

Graduates of Belarusian schools and universities have many opportunities to become students at Czech higher education institutions. In the Czech Republic, it is possible to study on a state-funded basis, which is another factor making Czech education accessible to any applicant from the Republic of Belarus. Studies in Prague are conducted in Czech, German, or English, so you can choose any of these languages.

    Admission specifics and universities

You can apply to a Czech university after graduating from a general education school or a university. Having a Belarusian education diploma is a significant advantage, as your studies may be shortened by several years. If you are applying for a similar specialty, the chances increase.

The most prestigious university in the Czech Republic is called Charles University. It is located in the capital. Charles University is famous for its good training of medical students. Specialists in technical and mathematical sciences are trained at the Brno University of Technology, economists at the Prague University of Economics, and lawyers, philosophers, and teachers at Palacký University in Olomouc.

    Entrance examinations

Foreign citizens enter Czech universities on a general basis. Usually, there is no Czech language exam. However, budget-funded studies are only offered in Czech. The language can be learned in advance in the Republic of Belarus, but most Slavic students learn it in the Czech Republic. They first enroll in preparatory courses and then enter the university after a certain period. The competition for admission to higher education institutions in the Czech Republic is two people per place, but much depends on the specific specialty. Entrance examinations include 2-3 tests taken in written form. Sometimes students are admitted based on the аттестат competition results.

    Tuition fees

There are both public and private universities in the country, with approximately equal numbers of each. Studying at a public university in Czech is free. At a foreign language (English or German) and private universities, tuition is paid. The annual cost of tuition varies from 1,000 to 20,000 euros, depending on the university, city, specialty, and other factors. As a rule, the most expensive tuition is in the capital.

    Education

The Czech education system is more relaxed. Nobody monitors attendance. The main thing is to pass the tests. The peculiarity is that all tests must be taken in written form. Many students undergo internships in one of the European countries or the USA during their studies.

    Scholarships and benefits

Scholarships in the Czech Republic are not high, so every student is allowed to work part-time. Foreign students have the same rights and benefits as Czech students. They are granted a postponement of military service and a long-term visa.

    Prospects after graduation

In the Czech Republic, there is postgraduate education, which is represented by graduate school. Belarusian graduates of Czech universities quickly obtain the right to permanent residence in the country. With a Czech higher education diploma, you can live and work in other EU countries or, if desired, continue your studies at any university in the European Union.
