Since the beginning of February, Belarusians wishing to obtain a visa to travel to France will face updated rules for submitting applications.
The French Embassy in Minsk announced the transfer of functions for recording visa appointments to an external operator — the international company TLScontact.
This decision, according to diplomats, is intended to streamline the process, make it more transparent and convenient for applicants, and reduce waiting time, – reports a correspondent for the online publication «Belnovosti».
From February 2nd, everyone will have to register through the unified TLScontact website.
On the portal, you need to create a personal account and fill out a brief online questionnaire. After that, the system will automatically offer available dates for a visit to the diplomatic mission.
The key change is that the appointment process is now fully transferred to a digital field, which is expected to eliminate problems with independently searching for free «windows» on the official consulate website.
In parallel, simplified procedures are being introduced for two categories of citizens. We are talking about family members of EU citizens, as well as tourist groups supervised by accredited agencies.
For them, the process of preparing and submitting documents will become less bureaucratically burdened.
An important innovation will be the launch of a specialized TLScontact call center.
At the request of the embassy, the operator will provide applicants with consultations on all stages of the procedure and the list of necessary documents. This service, as emphasized by the diplomatic mission, will be provided free of charge.
The embassy expects that cooperation with an external provider will allow redistribution of the workload of consular staff.
The высвобошенные resources are planned to be directed to the direct processing of applications, which in the future may increase the total number of visas issued.
In addition, the reform promises faster and more convenient service for all categories of applicants, the introduction of an electronic notification system and targeted support for specialists in the tourism industry.
At the same time, the procedure for considering documents and making decisions remains fully within the jurisdiction of French consular officers.
The physical submission of documents, as before, will be carried out only in the embassy building in Minsk.
The TLScontact company acts solely as a technical intermediary responsible for organizing the flow of applicants and preliminary consulting.
