    Rules for obtaining a work visa for Belarusians

    23.10.2025
       How to prepare for working abroad.

       In order to legally get a job abroad, you need to obtain a work visa. Having a work visa is the basis for legal employment abroad, staying and living in the destination country. It is a guarantee of safety and reliability.

       A work visa is a national visa, not a Schengen visa. With such a visa, you can stay in any other Schengen country for up to 90 days within six months, in addition to the destination country.

       If you already have a Schengen visa that has not expired, there is no need to cancel it. Apply for a work visa.

       To apply for a national work visa, you need to submit documents in the visa center of the country where you plan to work, located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. If there is no visa center for that country, then the documents are submitted to the Consular Department of the embassy.

       Basic documents required for a work visa:

       - passport;

       - photo;

       - health insurance;

       - job invitation.

       Depending on the country, the requirements for the job invitation may vary, but the essence remains the same. The employer in their country issues an invitation for work in the appropriate authority in the prescribed form and sends it to you.

       The issuance period for a work visa for Belarusians depends on the country, but most often it is one year.

       The cost of a work visa varies depending on the country. The amount of the fee is determined by the Foreign Ministry of the state.

       After the decision to issue a visa is made, you pick up your passport with the sticker.
