    Fundamentals of financial security abroad

    30.09.2025
       When planning a trip abroad for business or leisure, it's always important to remember about your safety, including financial safety.

       The following recommendations will help you minimize the risks associated with the storage, safe movement across the border, and use of funds.

       Recommendation 1. Always carry some cash in the local currency. This is necessary for several reasons:

       - you can't always and everywhere use a payment card. In some countries, cards are accepted far from everywhere, it could be a gas station, a store, a local market, a taxi, etc., and finding a trustworthy ATM can be quite difficult. In this case, you need to have enough cash to pay;

       - also, an unpleasant surprise for the cardholder can be its loss, blocking, or freezing of money in the account. Banking payment systems can give a short-term technical failure.

       Determine in advance how much cash you can take with you. Exchange cash in advance. This way you will be able to choose the most favorable exchange rate.

       Recommendation 2. Features of using plastic cards:

       - for trips abroad, it is recommended to have a separate payment card. To avoid losing the ability to use your salary card in case of a technical failure, experts advise issuing a card for use abroad in another bank with different processing. The second card can be blocked after each trip and activated on the eve of a new trip;

       - you can use your salary card if you are sure that the place where you pay is reliable;

       - inform your bank about your upcoming trip abroad. This is done so that your bank does not block your card itself in case of a payment transaction from abroad.

       Be vigilant not to become a victim of scammers!
