Belarus and Colombia have concluded an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual abolition of visas for short-term trips of citizens. The document was signed on April 9 in Moscow by Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Shestakov and Colombian Ambassador to Russia and Belarus Hector Isidro Arenas Neira, BELTA correspondent reports.

"This is a very significant step in our relations. I have great respect and sympathy for your country," Yevgeny Shestakov said, addressing the Colombian diplomat.

The deputy minister added that the agreement will come into force 30 days after its ratification by the parliaments of the two states.

"This is a huge step towards strengthening our bilateral relations. The signing of the agreement enables citizens to visit our countries for tourism and business purposes, which will intensify our relations in all areas," the Colombian ambassador emphasized.
