27.02.2025

Charter flights will operate to the city of Salalah, located on the coast of the Indian Ocean, and Belarusians do not need a visa if they stay in the country for no more than two weeks.
The first flight from Minsk to Oman departed early in the morning on February 27, Sputnik reported, citing the press service of Belavia.
The aircraft with the cornflower livery departed for Salalah at 5:05 a.m. Belarusian time. The travel time will be 7.5 hours. The time difference between the countries is one hour.
In honor of the launch of the new route, ceremonial events have been organized at the departure and arrival airports. In Minsk, a festive atmosphere has been created for passengers with a photo zone and gifts, and in Salalah, the first flight will be greeted by representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Egypt, city officials, and journalists. In Oman, the flight will be greeted with a water arch according to aviation tradition.
"Belarus and Oman have great potential for cooperation, as evidenced by the fact that the new route was opened as a result of agreements at the highest level between the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. Official meetings took place at the end of last year, and at the beginning of 2025, we are talking about the start of the charter flight program," Belavia CEO Igor Cherginets noted.
According to him, the direct flight will significantly simplify logistics and have a positive impact on the tourist flows of the two countries.
"We see that there is demand for the route and it is considerable: the load factor for the first flight is close to 100%," the airline's head noted.
Oman is a new destination for Belarusians, it is called the "Caribbean of the East" and is considered the most affordable alternative to the Maldives or Seychelles. Travel agencies claim that it is comfortable to rest there both in summer and winter. Salalah is the second largest city in Oman (207 thousand people), located on the coast of the Indian Ocean. The region has many clean beaches with crystal clear water.
Belarusian citizens do not need a visa to travel to Oman if they stay in the country for no more than 14 days.
