The list of permitted jobs for foreigners is expanding from August 1.

    16.07.2024
The Belarusian authorities have eased restrictions on labor migration for foreign citizens who do not have a residence permit.

The list of professions that can be worked in Belarus with a foreign passport and without a permanent residence permit will be expanded, according to an officially published resolution of the Ministry of Labor.

"This resolution comes into force on August 1, 2024," the document says.

The list of professions will now have 53 items instead of 35.

The list has been expanded to include skilled trades. For example, tanning, liming, and technical production operators, leather stretchers, and so on have been added.

Most of the new specialties are related to the leather industry. There are four enterprises in this sector in the republic: Minsk Production Leather Association (MPKO, Minsk District), Bobruisk Leather Plant, Grodno Production Leather Association, and SKINTECH company.

Almost all of these enterprises are state-owned. One of them, MPKO, was visited by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in 2021. At that time, it was announced that there are 78 consumers of leather products in the country. These are footwear enterprises, as well as producers of haberdashery and furniture.
