Stay in the state will be possible up to 90 days.
A new destination in Central America is opening up for Belarusians, as Belarus and Nicaragua mutually abolish visas. This follows from the intergovernmental agreement, which was published on January 6 on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The document comes into force in 30 days, which means that another country will soon become available to Belarusians under the "visa-free" regime. It is noted that citizens of Belarus and Nicaragua will be able to stay, enter or transit without the hassle of visas. However, there are some exceptions.
The period of stay for Belarusians in Nicaragua should not exceed 90 days from the date of entry or more than 90 days during the calendar year. If citizens still decide to stay longer, they will have to apply for a visa.
Responsibilities and documents
In addition, arriving travelers will be required to comply with the sanitary rules of the country. They may also be expelled from the state or denied entry if their presence is deemed a threat to national security.
The agreement is concluded for an indefinite period, and Belarusians will need the following documents to enter Nicaragua: passport, certificate for return to Belarus (only for returning to the country), national identity card of a seaman of the Republic of Belarus (if there is a ship's role or an extract from it).
Four in one
An interesting point: this agreement opens up visa-free entry for Belarusians not only to Nicaragua. Travelers will get a chance to visit three more countries in Central America.
The fact is that since 2007, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua have had an agreement on a single visa space.
This means that with a current document for entry into one of the countries, a traveler can enjoy the beauties and learn more about the culture of all four states.
How to get to Nicaragua?
There are no direct flights from Minsk to Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. Specialized websites for selling airline tickets offer several options for getting to this country in Central America.
Flights to Managua most often depart from Warsaw. The cheapest option is to fly from Riga (for $675). The closest departure option from Minsk is from the airport in Kaliningrad. In this case, a round-trip ticket will cost about $2,500.
The distance between Minsk and Managua is 10,405 km.
