Ukrainian diplomas and academic degrees will no longer be recognized by the Belarusian authorities, and the nostrification of educational documents will become impossible.
The Council of Ministers of Belarus has adopted a resolution on the termination of the agreement with the Government of Ukraine on the mutual recognition and equivalence of educational documents and academic titles.
The relevant resolution No. 689 of October 17 was published on the National Legal Portal.
The agreement between the two governments was signed on February 6, 1998 in the Belarusian capital and has been in force for a quarter of a century.
"To send a message to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the termination of the agreement," the text of the resolution of the Belarusian government says.
This resolution came into force from the moment of its adoption on October 17, 2023.
In recent years, the Ukrainian authorities have been regularly terminating bilateral agreements with the Belarusian side. The authorities of the republic, in turn, also terminate international agreements with Kiev.
