The interstate agreement, which guaranteed pension provision to citizens of the two countries, has been in force since 1995.
The Verkhovna Rada has supported a bill to denounce the agreement between Ukraine and Belarus on guarantees to citizens in the field of pension provision, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said.
According to him, 301 deputies voted in favor of breaking the bilateral agreement on pension guarantees in the Ukrainian parliament on Monday.
At the same time, 226 votes of Ukrainian deputies would have been enough to denounce the international agreement.
The international document has been in force since 1995.
Now, Ukrainian citizens living in Belarus and Belarusians living on the Ukrainian territory who have retired will have difficulty obtaining it.
Over the past year, the Kiev authorities have been alternately terminating bilateral cooperation agreements with official Minsk. Earlier, Kiev announced that it was unilaterally withdrawing from the agreement with Minsk on the avoidance of double taxation, followed by Ukraine's withdrawal from the Belarusian side.
Kiev also unilaterally severed twinning relations with the Belarusian capital. Other cities are also breaking similar agreements.
