Belarus introduces visa-free regime for Poles at all border checkpoints
02.03.2023

The Belarusian authorities introduced visa-free entry for some neighboring countries last year and extended it this year.
Visa-free entry for Polish citizens will be available at all border crossing points starting Thursday, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported.
The department also clarified that the нововation will come into effect at midnight on Thursday and will be valid until December 31 inclusive.
«Given the high demand for the Belarusian visa-free regime, the country's leadership has decided to allow visa-free entry for Polish citizens at all Belarusian border crossing points with the EU», the message says.
The visa-free regime was first introduced last year and was very popular. Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko extended it for the entire 2023 year.
«To confirm the openness of our country, our commitment to good-neighborliness and strengthening interethnic ties, it was decided today to extend the visa-free regime», the presidential press service explained earlier.
This is not the first such decision by the Belarusian authorities. Several years ago, citizens of dozens of countries were allowed to fly to Minsk National Airport without visas. Visitors needed to purchase insurance and were allowed to stay in the republic for no more than 30 days.
