Where can Ukrainian citizens find work in Belarus?

    20.10.2022
A question that does not lose its relevance among our readers. In this article, we will talk about recent changes in legislation, as well as consider current options for finding a job in Belarus.

The labor legislation in Belarus has changed since September 14. Now, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 326, an employer can hire a Ukrainian without confirming documents on Ukrainian education.

Moreover, the employer does not have to pay a state fee for issuing a work permit for a resident of Ukraine. Keep this information in mind if you are going to find a job in Belarus.

Where to look for a job? Here are the options:

       1. If you have Ukrainian citizenship and you are in Belarus, then try to look for a job (including with accommodation options) on the portal of the State Employment Service. You can also contact the employment services at your place of residence. They will advise you on current vacancies there. Follow the link to see the contacts of the employment services in Belarus.

The employment contract is concluded in writing in Russian and (or) Belarusian. It is also possible to conclude an agreement in Ukrainian. If Ukrainian citizens speak Russian, they can draw up an employment contract in it.

       2. You can contact the IOM Representative Office in Belarus for help. This organization, with the participation of partners, helps migrants with employment issues. Here are some types of help offered:

       – They teach at professional courses, as well as engage in retraining and advanced training*

       – Provide legal assistance on employment issues in Belarus*.

*This type of assistance is provided individually and after considering each specific case. It concerns assistance beyond the amounts that the state provides free of charge.

If you feel that you or someone close to you needs such assistance, contact the hotline service for safe departure, stay abroad and combating human trafficking by calling 8 801 2015555. For calls in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, from landline phones, mobile operators A1, MTC, life:), the call is free.
