A simplified procedure for obtaining permanent residence permits has been introduced in Belarus. This was reported by BELTA, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The department said that the competent authorities of Belarus continue to implement steps aimed at strengthening good-neighborly relations with citizens of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland. One of them was the establishment of a visa-free regime for entry. To date, more than 200 thousand people have already taken advantage of this opportunity. The next step by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was согласован with the interested state authorities, was the implementation of a simplified procedure for obtaining a permanent residence permit. This applies to citizens of the border states who have roots in the republic or are ethnic Belarusians.
The simplified procedure has been in effect for more than a week. During this time, citizens of the Baltic states and Poland have submitted over 20 applications for permanent residence in Belarus.
