In this section, we try to fully answer frequently asked questions. Today, we will look at whether a mother can receive maternity capital for a child if the child is born in another country, whether it is possible to buy a house in Belarus while having Russian citizenship, and whether it is possible to extend an expiring work visa without leaving Poland.
"Regardless of where the child is born or adopted, citizens of Russia have the right to receive the state (Russian) maternity capital certificate. If you are planning to give birth in Belarus, the main condition will be the child's citizenship. The application can be submitted on the State Services website or through the form on the official website of the Pension Fund. If you plan to receive maternity capital upon returning to Russia, contact the territorial branch of the PFR at your place of residence or the My Documents center. If you do not have registration in Russia, you need to contact the branches of the PFR in Moscow and the Moscow region.
You can receive the certificate immediately after the birth of the child or later – as long as the program is running. Currently, the program is valid until 2026."
"Citizens of Russia can buy any property in Belarus on the same grounds as citizens of Belarus. To buy a house, you do not need to obtain citizenship. For the transaction, you will need a Russian passport and confirmation of registration in Belarus. Another point is the land plot. According to Belarusian legislation, it cannot be purchased by foreign citizens. However, a land plot can be leased for a long term with a maximum period of 99 years.
If a foreigner (including a citizen of Russia) has purchased residential property in the Republic of Belarus, they can apply for temporary residence, but for a period of not more than one year. Temporary residence can be extended every year or a residence permit can be obtained."
