The General Consulate of the Russian Federation will open in Hrodna. This was announced by Boris Gryzlov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Belarus, during a meeting with the chairman of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik, reports BELTA correspondent.
"The meeting with the chairman of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee is especially important to discuss political issues. The decision has been made to open the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Hrodna. Today we will look at placement options, building options. This process is going according to regulations. But the political decision has been made and discussed at the level of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus," said Boris Gryzlov.
He also noted that the Hrodna region is very important in Belarusian-Russian relations, as it accounts for more than 50% of total trade turnover. The main thing is food, which accounts for more than 40% of the total volume of exports and imports. The ambassador emphasized that an important task is to see how Russian raw materials are used in the enterprises of the Hrodna region.
During his visit to the region, Boris Gryzlov visited JSC "Hrodna Azot". "The enterprise produces vital products, especially today, because these products ensure food security. The enterprise manufactures fertilizers that need to be applied to obtain high yields," the ambassador added.
