Cyprus lifts all entry restrictions for tourists

    28.05.2022
Starting from June 1, 2022, foreign tourists, including Russian ones, will be able to come to Cyprus on the same terms as before the pandemic. By government decision, all restrictions have been lifted: vaccination certificates and PCR tests are no longer required.

FROM JUNE 1, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO COME TO CYPRUS UNDER PRE-COVID RULES

Starting from June 1, vaccinated tourists arriving in Cyprus will no longer have to show a vaccination certificate, those who have recovered will not have to show a certificate of recovery, and unvaccinated tourists will no longer need a negative PCR test or antigen rapid test.

The government press and information bureau of the island state announced the нововведение coming into force on June 1 on May 27.

It is clarified that quarantine restrictions have been lifted not only for tourists arriving in the country by plane. The easing is also relevant for the country's seaports.

Thus, starting from June 1, Russian tourists will need a passport and a visa to enter Cyprus.

At the moment, the consulates of the Republic of Cyprus are temporarily not issuing pro-visas. However, it is possible to obtain a national visa of the Republic of Cyprus, and any Schengen visa will also do.

Cyprus Transport Minister Yiannis Karousos called the easing of entry conditions an important decision that will allow the country to return to normalcy regarding travel.

As for flight occupancy, the minister said that it is at a very high level. It is expected that in May, passenger traffic will reach 77% of the indicators of the corresponding period of the pre-pandemic 2019, with an average of about 30 thousand arriving passengers per day.

RUSSIANS ARE FLYING TO CYPRUS WITH CONNECTING FLIGHTS

Russian tourists are still getting to Cyprus with connecting flights with a transfer, for example, in Dubai, Istanbul, Tel Aviv.

A flight on the Moscow – Larnaca route with transfers in Turkey and Israel costs 39.8 thousand rubles per person one way.
