The police have uncovered a scheme for organizing illegal migration, detaining a 29-year-old Minsk resident and a 49-year-old citizen from one of the Transcaucasian countries, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the organizer of the business is Belarusian. Since 2015, he has created about 15 commercial structures for the fictitious employment of foreigners. The companies did not conduct any economic activities; their main task was to legalize foreigners in Belarus, law enforcement officials said.
In addition, there are facts of registration of front companies using stolen Russian passports and forgery of documents on their behalf.
The Belarusian's accomplice was engaged in finding clients. For an amount from $100 to $500, illegal immigrants received permission to work in Belarus and registration.
According to operational data, over the course of 3 years, about 200 citizens of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, and Turkey were legalized through front companies, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Migrants legalized in this way traded in markets, some of them did not work anywhere, and some were involved in organized crime.
Now both suspects have been detained. A criminal case has been initiated against them under the article on organizing illegal migration. Illegal migrants face deportation or expulsion from the country after the procedure for аннулирования the special work permit is completed, the Ministry of Internal Affairs concluded.
