For Belarusians who are going abroad, including on vacation, customs officers remind which personal items, in what quantity and with what frequency can be imported into our country without paying duties.

       — Once every three years, duty-free import of household appliances (refrigerator, washing machine, stove, microwave, food processor, etc.), electrical appliances (laptop, tablet, TV, LCD monitor), plumbing is allowed, — the Vitebsk Customs clarify.

Among other household appliances that can be transported without paying duties once every 3 years are also gas or electric stoves, hobs, shower cabins, toilets, dishwashers, coffee machines, domestic sewing machines, domestic water heaters, vacuum cleaners, baby strollers (of each type depending on the child's age), outboard motors and other items.

       — Once every two years, you can bring tires for your personal car from abroad: 4 pieces for a car, 3 for a motorcycle with a sidecar, 2 without a sidecar, — the Vitebsk Customs add.

However, Belarusians need to remember that in the EAEU states, including our country, from March 29, customs duty for the import of indivisible goods from abroad is levied in a new way — those that weigh more than 35 kilograms. For example, refrigerators, washing machines, shower cabins and others.

Now the duty for indivisible goods is paid at a uniform rate of 30% of the cost of the goods, but not less than 4 euros per 1 kg of weight.

Previously, indivisible goods at the customs had to be processed with the payment of a total customs payment. It consists of the amount of customs duty, value added tax and customs clearance fee.

Indivisible goods are personal items that weigh more than 35 kilograms. This is one item in assembled or disassembled form, including incomplete or unfinished, the separation of which will change its purpose. When weighing, the weight of the packaging in which the item was sold is taken into account, without which it cannot do until it is used.

       — You can also import up to three bouquets of flowers, each with no more than 15 plants. Phytosanitary certificates are required for the import of seeds and potted flowers, — the Vitebsk Customs add.

Customs officers remind that when crossing the border more than once every three months, you can bring in goods for personal use worth no more than 300 euros or weighing no more than 20 kg. When crossing the border with an interval of more than three months, these limits increase to 1,500 euros and 50 kg, respectively. If the limits are exceeded, you will need to pay customs duty — 30% of the value, but not less than 4 euros per 1 kg of the excess value and weight limit.

       — The norms for duty-free import of alcoholic beverages and beer are 3 liters per person over the age of 18. If this limit is exceeded, you will have to pay 10 euros for each 1 liter over the allowed three. The maximum allowed is the carriage of 5 liters of alcoholic products. It is allowed to import 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars (cigarettes), or 250 g of tobacco, or these products in assortment with a total weight of not more than 250 g per person over the age of 18.

When traveling by plane, the duty-free import limits for goods, regardless of the frequency of border crossing, are 10 thousand euros and 50 kilograms.

       — For personal use, it is allowed to move across the border medicines containing psychotropic or narcotic substances, no more than 90 daily doses (for psychotropic drugs) and no more than a weekly dose for narcotic drugs. In this case, the medicines must be declared, and you must have a prescription and an extract from the medical record for them.

And for those travelers who take expensive equipment with them on their trip, customs officers recommend declaring it «so that it is not subsequently classified as purchased abroad.»
