Public Organization "Kobrin Club of Business Women 'Bona'"

The public organization "Kobrin Club of Business Women 'Bona'" (hereinafter referred to as KCBDW "Bona") began its activities in April 2002 as an initiative group, registered by the Department of Justice of the Brest Regional Executive Committee on December 15, 2004. The organization underwent re-registration in 2006. The re-registration certificate No. 01-0187 was issued on September 8, 2006. The club members include heads of institutions and organizations in the city, deputies of the district council, doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, those who are concerned about the problems of today's life and actively work on protecting the rights and interests of women, children, family values, forming an active life position of women and their participation in decision-making.

The goal of the club's activities: to unite professional women in the city of Kobrin and Kobrin district for the joint realization of their civil, economic, social and cultural rights. One of the methods of achieving the goal is to promote the idea of gender equality.

Main objectives:

• Assistance and support for women in adapting to changing socio-economic conditions,
• Assistance to state and public organizations in the development, adoption and implementation of programs aimed at protecting the rights and interests of women,
• Formation of a positive image of a woman entrepreneur and a woman specialist,
• Establishment of partnerships with women's public organizations in the Republic of Belarus and foreign women's organizations with similar statutory goals.

Areas of activity:

1. Preventive work to prevent human trafficking within the framework of the international technical assistance project of the International Organization for Migration (IOM):
   • "Preventing human trafficking. Effective job search"
   • "Combating human trafficking: Republic of Belarus. Equal educates equal" for students of secondary specialized educational institutions in Kobrin.
   • "Combating human trafficking: Republic of Belarus" talk show on Kobrin-TV "Don't become a bird in a cage".
   • "Combating human trafficking: Republic of Belarus" lecture courses
   • Organization of a contest jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs among students of secondary specialized educational institutions for the production of a billboard "Combating human trafficking: Republic of Belarus."
2. Information events to prevent breast cancer in the Kobrin region "Doctors and the public against breast cancer"
3. Organization and holding of round tables on the topics: "Women's destinies", "Woman and a healthy lifestyle", "Reproductive health of young people", etc.
4. Information meetings on the problem of domestic violence
5. Within the framework of the "TOLLAS" project, a mini-project was implemented to advocate for older people "Active together!" (development of intergenerational dialogue between older people and children in socially dangerous situations)
