Citizens of Belarus have the right to formalize/register a marriage abroad. In order for this marriage to be recognized as valid in Belarus, the citizen must legalize the documents after the marriage is concluded abroad.
Depending on the country where the marriage was concluded, you may have: an apostille (special stamp) or consular legalization. Then you need to come to Belarus and translate the legalized document on marriage registration (in different countries this document is called differently) into Belarusian or Russian, the accuracy of the translation and the authenticity of the translator's signature must be notarized. The legalized document with translation and notarized certification is required to apply to the registry office.

Your next step is to submit information on the act of civil status registered in a foreign state to the registry office. The registry office will put a mark on the marriage; if you have changed your surname, they will also put the corresponding mark here.
If you change your surname, you must apply to the Department of Citizenship and Migration (DCM) at your place of residence to replace your passport within 30 days after the marriage. Since your passport will be invalid after 30 days. The DCM will put a stamp on the marriage in the new passport.
You can also submit information about the marriage to the Belarusian diplomatic mission at the place of registration for consular accounting — in case of permanent residence abroad. This must be done within 6 months from the date of registration of the act of civil status by the competent authority of another country.
