Before signing a work contract abroad, it is important to pay attention to the following:

    • The terms and conditions of employment.
    • The rights and obligations of the employee and the employer.
    • The duration of the contract and the possibility of its renewal.
    • The amount and terms of payment of wages.
    • Social guarantees and benefits.
    • The procedure for terminating the contract.

Before signing a contract for working abroad, it is necessary to thoroughly check it for key conditions to avoid misunderstandings and possible deception. Here are the main aspects to pay attention to:

    1. Details of the parties

    - Full legal details of the employer (company name, address, registration numbers).

    - Your personal details: full name, passport details, contact information.

    - Check that the employer is correctly identified and officially registered.

    2. Position and responsibilities

    - Clearly defined position and list of responsibilities that you are obliged to perform.

    - Make sure that the responsibilities correspond to what was previously agreed (in an interview or job offer), as vague or incomplete formulations can lead to additional unforeseen requirements.

    3. Working conditions

    - Working hours: number of hours per day/week, work schedule, availability of overtime and its payment.

    - Vacation and days off: number of paid vacation days and public holidays in the host country.

    - Conditions for providing sick leave or maternity leave.

    4. Salary and payments

    - Exact amount of salary and its regularity.

    - Conditions for salary increase or provision of bonuses.

    - Additional payments: compensation for meals, housing, transportation expenses, health insurance, etc.

    - Make sure that the contract specifies a minimum salary in accordance with the laws of the country.

    5. Accommodation and Transport

If the employer has promised to provide accommodation or compensate for transportation expenses, this should be specified in the contract, along with the conditions of accommodation.

    6. Termination Conditions

    - The conditions for terminating the contract should be clearly stated:

    1. On your part: the minimum notice period for informing the employer of your resignation.

    2. On the part of the employer: grounds for dismissal and compensation.

    - Make sure there is a clause on severance pay in case of early termination of the contract.

    7. Fines and Deductions

    - Check that there are no unjustified fines or deductions from your salary.

    - Any deductions (for example, for accommodation or training) should be agreed upon in advance and should not exceed a reasonable limit.

    8. Legal Validity of the Contract

Make sure that the contract complies with the laws of the country in which you will be working.

    9. Additional Conditions

    - Probation Period: its duration and pay.

    - Work Clothing and Equipment, if needed: who provides and pays for them?

    - Contract Extension: conditions for its extension after the expiration of the term.

What is alarming in the contract?

    1. Lack of clear information about salary and working conditions.

    2. Unjustified fines and deductions.

    3. Oral promises not recorded in the contract.

    4. Requirements to hand over your passport or other documents to the employer.

    5. Provisions that limit your rights (for example, a ban on resignation).

Never sign a contract that raises doubts or contains unclear wording. Your rights and obligations should be clearly stated, and all promises made by the employer should be recorded in writing.

Calls and written inquiries are temporarily not accepted.
