Flying to Turkey: what are the restrictions?

The holiday season continues, and many people still choose Turkey as their vacation destination. It is a convenient country both in terms of climate and service, which often suits Belarusian tourists. We are looking into whether there are any departure restrictions that you need to know about before traveling.

To date, there are no restrictions on flights to Turkey. However, there are some nuances. Let's take them apart:

    1. It should be borne in mind that due to the fact that Ukraine has banned the use of its airspace by aircraft registered in Belarus, flights from Belarus to Turkey are operated through Russian airspace – therefore the flight time has increased.

    2. Citizens who have arrived in Turkey must present a certificate confirming a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19, issued no earlier than 72 hours before arrival. Please note that the absence of a medical document is grounds for refusal of entry to Turkey.

    3. An alternative to the PCR test may be a document issued by the official authorities confirming that vaccines were administered no later than 14 days before departure, or that COVID-19 was transmitted within the last six months prior to departure, or an express antigen test performed no earlier than 48 hours prior to arrival in Turkey.

    4. Upon returning from Turkey, it will be necessary to self-isolate in the Republic of Belarus for 7 days.

That's all the nuances you need to know about crossing the border with Turkey. Be careful and take care of yourself.
