    Sisters who are separated: Ukraine, Poland and Belarus

    The hotline of the NGO "Club of Business Women" operates as usual from eight in the morning to eight in the evening, seven days a week.

    Despite the fact that the pandemic has put everyone under strict restrictions, people still have questions related to safe travel in and out of the country. Moreover, this is a good time to plan future trips when the whole situation with the virus is over.

    We have compiled important information for you related to the borders of Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus.

    In accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated March 25, 2020, No. 171, persons arriving in Belarus from countries with an unfavorable epidemic situation regarding coronavirus, within 14 calendar days from the date of arrival:

    — must be in self-isolation at home;

    — until the end of the self-isolation period, they are not subject to further passage through the border of Belarus.

    If foreigners cannot leave Belarus due to the coronavirus epidemic, they must contact the Department of Citizenship and Migration at their registration place in the Republic of Belarus to extend their stay. Similarly, Belarusians abroad must contact the migration service of the country they are in to extend their stay if the сроки expire and there is no possibility to return home.

    Poland

    On entry and stay in Poland during the epidemic

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Poland do not recommend Belarusians to visit Poland during the epidemic regime.

    Up-to-date and reliable information about coronavirus can be found on the Internet resource of the embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Poland.

    Since March 15, 2020, Poland has resumed border control at the border with the Czech Republic, Germany, Lithuania, Slovakia, in sea ports and airports constituting the internal border within the meaning of the Schengen Border Code, and has taken measures to limit entry into the country.

    From March 20, 2020, to May 3, 2020, Poland introduced an epidemic regime and restrictions on movement.

    Who is allowed to enter the territory of Poland:

    - Polish citizens;

    - spouses and children of Polish citizens or those under the care of Polish citizens;

    - foreigners holding a Polish card;

    - heads of diplomatic missions, employees of diplomatic and consular missions, persons with diplomatic status;

    - foreigners with permanent or temporary residence permits;

    - foreigners with permission to work in Poland on the same terms as Polish citizens, a certificate of registration in the seasonal work register, a certificate of assignment of work to a foreigner in Poland, who:

    a) perform work in Poland, or

    b) submit documents confirming that work will begin immediately after crossing the border;

    c) foreigners driving vehicles for the transportation of passengers or goods, and their travel is part of their professional activity consisting of the transportation of goods or passengers.

    In particularly justified cases, the head of the border checkpoint, after receiving the consent of the Chief Commandant of the Polish Border Guard, may allow entry into Poland for foreigners not listed above.

    A person crossing the border with Poland and returning to their place of residence or stay in Poland is required to inform the Border Guard officer of the address of residence or stay where they will be in mandatory quarantine, a contact phone number, and to undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine, starting from the day following the day of border crossing. This information is entered into the appropriate teleinformation health system.

    The State Sanitary Inspector at the place of quarantine, in justified cases, makes a decision to reduce or exempt from the obligation to serve it.

    A fine of PLN 30,000 (about 6.5 thousand euros) is provided for non-compliance with quarantine.

    Ukraine

    The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced quarantine measures in the country on March 12, 2020. Now restrictions are in force in the country until April 24; it is not known for certain whether they will end after this date. Now all connections with Belarus have been suspended. The border can only be crossed by one's own transport.

    Also, at the border, it will be necessary to fill out an application that implies consent to voluntary self-isolation. It is important to understand that after writing such a statement, the person's location in self-isolation will be tracked.

    According to the decree of the Government of Ukraine, entry to Ukraine for foreigners is temporarily prohibited until April 24, 2020.

    Who is allowed to enter the territory of Ukraine:

    - foreigners who have the right to reside in Ukraine;

    - who are spouses or children of citizens of Ukraine;

    - employees of foreign diplomatic institutions and their family members;

    - persons engaged in cargo transportation;

    - crew members.

    An employment contract is not a valid document for entry into Ukraine (except for the categories listed above).

    Belarusians can return home freely.

    For other categories of foreigners and stateless persons, departure to Ukraine will be carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

    Checkpoints on the border with Belarus that can be crossed by car:

    - in Chernihiv region:

    Senkovka - Veselovka,

    Novye Yarilovichi - New Ghouta

    Slavutych is a Mosquito;

    - in the Zhytomyr region:

    Ledges - Novaya Rudnya;

    - in the Volyn region:

    Domanovo - Mokran.

    According to the order of the Government of Ukraine, foot traffic has been temporarily suspended at the state border of Ukraine.
