    User manual. Main rules abroad

Despite the current situation in the world, I don't want to dwell on the negative. After all, any situation is not eternal, and the sun is always hiding behind the clouds. Diseases go away, spring warms, borders open. For some reason, this trial has interjected itself into our lives. And therefore, we must withstand it with dignity. It is important to remember that a positive attitude and adherence to the simplest rules of caution will help, firstly, not to fall apart, and secondly, to set yourself up for a positive outcome.

We are all different. We react differently to the same situations, relate to them differently, and cope with them differently. Continents and cities, languages, traditions, way of life, and habits separate us. But we are all inhabitants of planet Earth and now, more than ever, we are united by one common problem, which has already been designated as a "pandemic".

But the article is not about that. It's about the fact that this will end for everyone sooner or later, and we will once again be able to freely travel to work in other countries, as well as study and travel. The article is for those who are planning a trip abroad after all the "quarantines". What you will have to face and what you need to know.

Take care of your belongings. The rule is universal and relevant in any country. Pickpockets like to prey on foreigners. Try to pay with a debit card. But if you still become a victim of thieves, contact the local police. If you are left without documents, you must first go to the police, file a report of theft. The police will issue a certificate of passport loss. It is necessary to get the certificate because you will need it at the embassy. Then apply for a certificate of return to Belarus at the Belarusian Embassy abroad. While at home in Belarus, go to the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Internal Affairs Body at your place of residence with the certificate of return, and apply for a new passport. The addresses of the embassies are available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

Do not post on social media about your departure. Although this is not easy to do, given how much we like to post every step we take online. Nevertheless. If you are on good terms with your neighbors and trust them, ask them to keep an eye on your house. If they notice suspicious activity near the front door, they can call the police. Many scammers look for their victims through social media, waiting for a person to be away from home.

Warn your bank about your trip. If you have always used your debit card in one location and suddenly start withdrawing money from it in another, the bank may block it. Banks try to protect their customers, and if they see suspicious activity of the card in an unusual location, you may be left without access to your funds.

Pay attention to terminals and ATMs.

When using an ATM, make sure that there are no skimmers (portable reading devices) attached to it. Such gadgets are easy to detect if you move the place where the card is inserted slightly.

Respect local laws. Before traveling, it's a good idea to learn about local traditions and laws so as not to violate them. Remember that ignorance of the law does not exempt from liability!

Do not bring home prohibited goods.

There are goods that cannot be taken out or brought into other countries. This list includes leather goods, medicines, cultural objects, plants, chemicals, etc. Be sure to familiarize yourself with this information before going abroad.

Today, traffic jams and crowds of tourists have disappeared in many cities. But the rules mentioned above are universal. And therefore, they will definitely come in handy when the situation in the world improves and it will be possible to cross borders calmly.

Do not forget about other important rules if you are planning a trip abroad.

Travel legally. Apply for a visa that matches the purpose of your trip: work visa, student visa, fiancée visa, etc.

Make copies of all important documents for yourself and your family: passport, visa, employment contract, etc.

Find out and save the contact details (address and phone number) of the nearest embassy or consulate of the Republic of Belarus in the country of stay in case of unforeseen situations.

Do not give original documents such as passport, tickets, insurance policy to strangers and do not leave them as collateral.

Leave your close ones the exact address of your place of stay abroad, connect roaming. Agree with your family on a code phrase that will let them know that something has happened to you.

Make sure you have enough money and the necessary documents that will help you return home without any problems.

Have return tickets or return tickets with an open date. If you plan to buy a return ticket home abroad, have an emergency fund of money for the purchase.

If you are working abroad and your rights are being violated, collect evidence (photos, contracts, documents, etc.) to submit as proof.

Find an opportunity to contact your family and tell them the code phrase you agreed on in advance, or call the number +375162218888 yourself and explain what has happened to you to receive assistance.
