Haste makes waste. Or how a Belarusian woman got a job for the last money available
Enterprising people are always looking for better living conditions for themselves. It is for this reason that every year hundreds of people leave Belarus in search of work. Many, before leaving, call the hotline of the NGO "Club of Business Women" for safe travel and stay abroad and combating human trafficking, supported by the International Organization for Migration in the Republic of Belarus. Others just go at random, not knowing all the nuances.
Tatyana is a mother of two children and a seamstress. The skill is universal and will come in handy in any country. So, flipping through the feed on Instagram, the woman came across a vacancy for a seamstress. A Ukrainian agency was offering work in Poland. The woman was interested in the offer, and the page offering the service inspired trust. Having contacted the author of the post, Tatyana found out all the necessary nuances for herself.

The young woman raises the children herself, the older girl is 10, the younger is four, and her pensioner mother helps. Tatyana worked at a sewing factory, but the working conditions stopped bringing the desired results, and the woman decided to find better-paid work, even if it meant going to another country. In addition, her mother promised to help: to take responsibility for raising the girls while Tatyana was working.
Therefore, having come across an attractive job offer as a seamstress in Poland, the woman immediately responded. She started acting according to the proposed instructions. The agency needed to be paid 100 dollars. Every ruble in the woman's house is counted. Parting with 100 dollars was not easy. But there are conditions.
Meanwhile: according to paragraph 9.13 of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1060 of December 16, 2015, licensed intermediary companies for employment abroad cannot charge money in advance. Naturally, the woman did not know about this. There was no one to ask. She learned about the existence of our hotline later, after she realized that she had been deceived. The page with the job data was deleted. Naturally, no one returned the money to the woman.
The situation was aggravated by the fact that the vacancy was offered by a Ukrainian agency. And in order to conduct proceedings, the laws of another country come into force. And if Tatyana plans to resolve the issue, she needs to go to Ukraine, hire a lawyer, spend more money and time that she does not have.
The first thing you need to know when going abroad to work through a Ukrainian (and not only!) agency: you don't need to pay any money in advance!
It's easy to talk about a situation when you're not in the middle of it. But when you have two small children to feed and clothe, you agree to the first available offers. Tatyana lost her money, but she called our hotline, where specialists acquainted her with a list of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who operate in Belarus and have a license to provide employment services abroad.
When you've been burned by milk, you want to blow on water. There's no need to go to extremes or despair. The cost of a mistake can sometimes be much more than 100 dollars. The main thing is to learn from your mistakes and not repeat them.
To avoid becoming a victim of scammers and unscrupulous employers, call the hotline.
