How to Verify the Authenticity of Your Employment Contract
An employment contract is an important document that confirms your official employment. It specifies your duties and salary, the nature of the work and the place where it is performed. It also outlines (which is important) the responsibility for non-compliance and violation of the obligations of the parties. It is best to check the employment contract with a lawyer: this way you can be more confident and increase your chances of having a safe job and an honest employer. If this is not possible, we have compiled a memo that can help you check this important document. Save it and be sure to check it before signing.

What to do if employment is carried out through legal entities/individual entrepreneurs who have a license for employment (including Belarusians abroad)?
If you want to find a job through an intermediary, you need to:
- conclude an agreement on assistance in employment with a Belarusian licensee company.
- conclude an employment contract with a direct employer abroad BEFORE leaving the country.
The signed employment contract will be registered by the Belarusian licensee company with the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and then a copy will be given to you before your departure abroad.
Please note that for traveling to work abroad, you must have: a work visa, an employment contract, a work permit. Be sure to make copies of these documents, leave a copy with your relatives and take one copy with you.
Remember that labor disputes between the parties to the employment contract (contract) are considered in the country where you work, in accordance with the legislation of that country. Try to resolve all types of disputes at the place of employment – for this, contact the competent authorities of the country, the court.
