A new category has been added to the subject matter of inquiries in the "hotline" database: "Citizens' departure/entry in connection with the epidemic situation."

About 10–15 appeals from Belarusians and foreign citizens arrive at the hotline of the NGO "Club of Business Women" every day.

In February, the hotline turned 17 years old. Some employees have been working since its founding, so the issue of competence is self-evident.

Those who contacted were interested in standard information: issues related to employment, marriage, studying abroad, tourism, passport and visa regime, children's safety on the Internet, they also contacted with legal issues, such as complaints against the employer, etc.

Since March 14, 2020, due to the coronavirus, a new position has been introduced for statistical accounting in the subject matter of appeals to the hotline database: "departure/entry of citizens due to the epidemic situation".

During the period from March 14 to March 31, 2020 (for 18 days), 115 calls were received (51 from men and 64 from women), which is 34% of all calls received in March.

The most popular questions on this topic:

    - returning home with transit through Poland with closed borders,

    - extending visas when it is impossible to leave different countries of the world due to closed borders,

    - returning home from countries where there is an embassy of the Republic of Belarus and from countries that do not have a Belarusian embassy,

    - the possibility of crossing the border with Poland on foot,

    - how to go to work in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia with closed borders,

    - how Russians can go to Belarus and return back due to the death of a close relative,

    - how to return from Asian countries in the absence of flights to Belarus via Russia,

    - refund of tour trip fees,

    - insurance compensation for treatment in case of coronavirus disease, etc.

Citizens had difficulties with departure/entry from 16 countries of the world: Europe (Italy, France, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Poland, Spain, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia), Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Georgia, UAE).

Calls were received from both citizens of the Republic of Belarus and foreign citizens – Ukraine, Israel, Hungary and Russia.

From March 1 to March 31, 2020, 58 people applied for written consultations on the KDJ NGO website via the "feedback" function, of which 16 people (27.5%) asked about "exit/entry of citizens in connection with the epidemiological situation".

"The hotline is a live mechanism. Here, schemes where you can memorize some information and feed it to people don't work. Each case of a Belarusian or foreigner contacting the hotline is individual and requires maximum involvement. After all, people don't just call the hotline for no reason. They call when they really need help. And the hotline staff are not just ready to help, but actually do help."
Calls and written appeals are temporarily not accepted.
