Crossing the Polish border. Who is allowed and how to cross correctly

Until recently, information about closed borders puzzled us. Today, we have almost come to terms with this measure of necessity in the context of the pandemic. The laws have been adapted to the current events. Our hotline staff are forced to be constantly on the alert and provide accurate information. One of the popular questions asked at the other end of the line to the staff of the NGO "Club of Business Women" is who can cross the Polish border and how to cross it correctly?

Who will be able to leave Belarus through land checkpoints, and what kind of supporting documents are needed?

We will talk about the most common purposes for leaving.

    Working in Poland.

To leave the Republic of Belarus in connection with labor activity, it is necessary to present documents confirming the fact of labor activity: an employment contract (contract) with a foreign employer or a copy of it. You also need a work permit issued by an authorized organization of the host party, as well as a permit to enter Poland - a work visa. If you have a Polish card, you need an employment contract (contract) and a valid national visa. You can leave no more than once every six months.

A job invitation is not a supporting document.

    Studying in Poland.

For those leaving the Republic of Belarus in connection with receiving education, it is necessary to present documents (copies of documents) confirming receipt of education in Poland - this is a certificate that the student is a student of this university and an agreement with the educational institution for study.

It can also be documents (copies of documents) from an educational institution of the Republic of Belarus on the direction of students to study in Poland, as well as permission to enter a foreign country for these purposes.

You can leave no more than once every six months.

Returning to permanent place of residence.

To leave Belarus for a permanent place of residence in Poland, Belarusian citizens present a residence permit or other valid document confirming the right to permanent residence in Poland. You can leave no more than once every six months.

    Business trip.

Citizens of Belarus going on a business trip must confirm the fact of being seconded to the territory of Poland, indicating the specific entity to which they are sent: a business trip certificate.

As noted above, it is possible to leave the territory of the Republic of Belarus no more than once every six months for work, study, and returning to permanent residence. When calculating the number of trips, departures made since December 21, 2020, are taken into account.

For example, if a student studying in a foreign country left the Republic of Belarus in September 2020 and returned to Belarus, then the September trip is not taken into account when calculating the six-month period.

    Important! Document requirements.

Documents confirming the purpose of departure from the Republic of Belarus must be translated into Russian or Belarusian and notarized.

You can familiarize yourself with the conditions for entering the territory of Poland here.
